As part of a tunnel project in Vienna, we perform highly precise measurements of both formwork and the produced tunnel segments (tubbings) — with tolerances in the tenth-of-a-millimeter range. Identical geometric parameters are inspected for both components, particularly flatness, torsion, and conicity of the circumferential and longitudinal joints, as well as the overall geometry.

The parallel inspection of formwork and precast elements ensures that production specifications are met with maximum accuracy. In addition, we developed a new measurement concept using a 3D laser scanner for efficient and full-surface inspection of the tunnel segments. The combination of proven and innovative technologies provides a reliable foundation for quality and precision in tunnel construction.
