Tunnel and Power Plant Construction
Our laser scanning technology is also used in underground environments. Various geometries such as excavation profiles, shotcrete surfaces, inner concrete structures or pipe cross-sections can be captured using specialized acquisition methods. The resulting data can be used to document ongoing construction progress or to verify compliance with specified installation standards.
Advantages at a Glance
- Short on-site time for the survey team results in minimal disruption to operations
- Reduced time requirements due to a high level of digitization and automation
- Cost-efficient thanks to minimized personnel requirements
- Accurate representation of all captured elements
- Complex geometries are clearly and comprehensibly visualized
- Enables calculation of layer thicknesses and volumes
Fields of Application
Infrastructure, transportation infrastructure,
energy sector and many more

Tunnel Construction
Surfaces in tunnels, shafts, galleries and caverns can be captured with a resolution of up to 1 × 1 cm. Overbreak and underbreak profiles, concrete thicknesses and surface flatness can be determined with high accuracy. Up to one million measurement points per second can be recorded, with a measurement time of less than two minutes per scan position. For tunnel construction projects, this allows daily scanning progress of up to 700 meters under static conditions.
Another application of laser scanning technology is the deformation analysis of pressure pipelines. During the installation of GRP pipes (glass fiber reinforced plastic) in particular, deformation-free installation is essential to ensure the specified service life. Potential deformations can be clearly identified in the point cloud and are documented in a detailed technical report.
Power Plant Construction
Power generation plants and power stations are complex systems. Efficient operation can only be achieved when all individual components interact perfectly and operate in harmony. Only under these conditions can the required efficiency be achieved, the susceptibility to faults remain low, maintenance intervals remain stable and the planned service life of the plant be reached.
With our mobile 3D measurement technology, we support you not only during the construction of your facility, but also during operation, maintenance work and overhaul periods. Our precise measurement data is provided both for documentation and for further processing and analysis, for example in CAD systems. In addition, we provide a free 3D viewer that allows the measurement data to be viewed and shared with other project participants without the need for complex software installations.
